Theatre Workshop - ABBS School of Management

Voice

The Voice Skills workshop is designed to enhance participants' understanding of a key element of communication: the voice. This workshop focuses on various aspects of voice, including nuances, production, strengthening, and modulation. While primarily centered on verbal communication, it also explores non-verbal elements. Through theatre-based tools and techniques, participants will work on improving both vocal and non-vocal abilities, boosting their confidence in interpersonal interactions.

The main goal of the workshop is to develop essential communication skills, especially the Voice. Specific objectives include:

  • Understanding the origin of Sounds/Voice
  • Developing a stronger and more effective voice
  • Improving verbal and non-verbal Communication
  • Building confidence in social interactions
  • Improving interpersonal relationships

Workshop Structure

The workshop is structured as eight sessions, each lasting up to 120 minutes.  Every session will focus on one or more of the following modules:

  • Voice Quality
  • Listening
  • Speech and Movement
  • Tools to improve Voice (and effective Non-verbal expression)
  • Interpersonal Interactions
  • Improvisation

Each session includes a set of exercises targeting one or more of these skill areas, allowing participants to explore different facets of Verbal communication. Sessions will begin with a warm-up activity to prepare participants for the focus of the day. The aim is to equip participants with practical ways to improve their Verbal skills.

 

Ideal group: 12-16 participants. Age: 10 & above
